El Puertito - Isla de Lobos
Isla de Lobos (Fuerteventura), Spain
  • Natural Pool

Located in the strait that separates Fuerteventura from Lanzarote, Lobos Island is an almost uninhabited pearl that is part of a protected area. There is even a small Roman archaeological site.
The island is just over 4 square km and you can visit it - without ever leaving the trails - on foot or by bicycle.
Along the bays of the island there are beautiful natural pools, like Playa de la Caleta or El Puertito.
To preserve the place, the local government in 2019 has decided to limit access to the island and to go there you must request a permit online at least three days in advance.
The positive side is that the island will look even better with fewer people around.
