Cresta Lake
Flims (Imboden), Switzerland

Description

Lake Cresta - enchanting for the emerald green and blue of its waters - is surrounded by a thick vegetation of green pines. The contrast is breathtaking. The stretch of water is bathing in the summer season - depending on the weather - from the beginning of June until mid-September, and this happens thanks to the fact that its waters are fed by hot springs that raise the temperature of the lake. The ground on which to spread the towel is a well-kept and comfortable turf. The lake is frequented by young and old and by families. Don't forget the costume because a regenerating bath in this wonderful place in the mountains is an exceptional experience. The water temperature is around 19 ° C in summer, so once you are in, you acclimatize quickly. It is also very transparent! The lake is uncrowded and quiet during the week, there are more people on the weekend. For BBQ lovers there is a picnic area with a large table, wooden benches and a huge communal grill that is turned on at 12, where you can roast your sausages.

How to reach

The lake is located in Switzerland between Flims and Trin and is reached only in part by car, following the road signs to Crestasee. Arriving at about 800 meters from the lake there is a large parking lot under Trin Mulin, which after a walk of about 30 minutes allows you to reach the water. You will not miss it for sure, because the indications are clear. The walk in the woods to reach the lake is simple and almost all plain, it can be done by anyone even in the hottest hours, because it is partially in the shade.
