Next to the parking, near the start of the river, you will find a restaurant (which also prepares take-away sandwiches), tables to eat lunches and a play area.
Along the way, you will find some places where stock up on fresh drinking water. The path does not, however, provides other services. There are no structures to make picnic and you have to make it up by yourself.
On Sundays, a free shuttle service is available for people to get from the country to the river and back. But it's always packed, and often half the people waiting at the stop remains off the bus. The shuttle does not practice continuous rides, the waits are long, sometimes you should set off on foot.

In some points of the path, you may come across guys diving into narrow gorges among the rocks from improbable heights. Do not imitate them. People died.
The water is always icy. Beware of congestion, cramps and hypothermia.
The bottom of some tanks and some of the path steps are slippery, use caution.
If you can, avoid going to Val Vertova on Sundays. The walk and the pools are crowded, they close the road about 2 km before the beginning of the path, forcing a long walk before you get to the river.
Finding parking on weekends is not easy if you arrive after 10 am.
At the end of the trail you will find a gate with a sign that says not to climb over (so do not do it!). Some ignore the warning and venture because by following the disused aqueduct pipes, you get to other beautiful and uncrowded waterfalls, through gorges and lakes.
Beware of fines, park properly and do not tempt fortune: police often passes by.
If you intend to spend all day by the river, bring packed lunches, because on the path there are no services. The last place where to get food is the restaurant near the parking lot.

How to reach

Val Vertova is in the district of Bergamo. Set the navigator or follow on the map for Vertova. Once you get there, follow the brown sign Val Vertova. After a curve (about 2 km) you arrive at the parking near the trail. Park the car (on the weekend they close the road and you have to leave the car a few kilometers from the beginning of the path), then walk along the river. The walk (round trip) lasts about 8 km, some sections of the road are even paved in cobblestones, in fact, is very simple for everyone. The walk usually lasts a few hours but it is possible to change the path and make it longer and more complex. During the walk you will enjoy the many natural pools that gradually come together. Do not stop at the first ones, there are pools much larger, deep and charming.
