Description

This is an extraordinary place: The Cave of Poetry (posia, from greek: "freshwater spring") are natural pools formed by the erosion of the waves on the rocks over the centuries, where the sea water enters, in a beautiful landscape, through a viable channel. The pools are rich in fish and there are also caves, the whole is very relaxing, even getting out of the water is facilitated by stairs formed between the rocks.
The most adventurous can dive from different heights (from 3 to about 6 meters). At low tide, then, you can go through a passageway into the cave to another cave full of sand often lit by the light of a few candles. Beautiful is also the cave to swim across connecting the pool to the sea. Everything is a show within a show. But there is more: even if out of the cave the waves are high and the sea is big, here you can swim freely in warm and transparent waters.

There are no kiosks nearby, nor other services. You need to take all the necessary to survive the hours that you want to stop. Peddlers, however, are not lacking, indeed abound, but you find them only in the summer months.
Visit the natural pool in the early morning - especially in July and August - because then it gets full with tourists of all types, locals and hawkers.
Finding parking in July and August after the early morning is almost impossible.
In August it is often impossible to swim because there's too many people.
Beware of fines, park properly and do not try your luck, local police often passes by.
Carry a dive light to enter through an underwater access to even a meter inside the cave, which is not always lit by candles.
If there is wind or heavy sea, don’t be afraid: the swimming pool is sheltered by cliffs and swimming always feels like home.

To reach the area of the cave you have to cross a piece of land on which we often encounter glass pieces of broken bottles, be careful if you are walking with slippers.
The fund is made up of both sand and rocks: we recommend footwear for rocks, and be careful not to cut.
The context is not suitable for small children, unless constantly under control, in the surroundings there are rocks overlooking the sea.
